STAY AWAY FROM CBT CENTRES, JAMB WARNS PARENTS.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has warned parents against following their children to Computer Based Test centres, which it said may hamper the successful conduct of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
This was made known on Tuesday by the Lagos State JAMB Coordinator, Mr Babatunde Bamisoye, during the matriculation of new students at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka, Yaba.
Bamisoye said, “As far as UTME is concerned, we do not allow parents to come into the premises of the centres. My advice to parents is that they should keep off because their coming has no value, rather it may hinder the success of the exam. Parents need only to get the students prepared with transport fares.  Allow them to go to their centres and return home.”
The coordinator also said the board had visited the 78 accredited CBT centres and certified them technically fit to conduct the examination starting on April 11.
Emphasising the need for candidates to steer clear of the JAMB prohibited items, Bamisoye warned, “Candidates should not bring in any of the banned equipment, like glasses or scientific wrist watches, as necessary sanctions will be taken. The Registrar, Prof. Is’haq Oloyede, has said that whosoever is caught will be sanctioned. Those with special cases like recommended eyeglasses are understandable, besides that, no one should come in with such things as listed.” KYLEOIVREPORTS

BEHAVIOUR: WHO CARES???

The other day I was at the airport seeing a friend off after her brief visit to the country.  My friend had completed all the check-in procedures and was getting ready to go through to customs.  The atmosphere got so hot she suddenly felt like something to drink before she faints or so she said.   I opted to get her a bottle of water from one of the eating joints available.  As we approached the venue my friend surprisingly suddenly decided that she wanted to calm herself down and have a quiet cup of coffee. We both sat for a few minutes waiting for the attendant to approach us, he looked like he was counting money and doing some paper work.  He saw us sitting down quite all right but did not deem it fit to ask us what we wanted.  As part of customer service it seems like common knowledge that the next thing would be to render service to the next available customer.  With not much time on our hands we eventually needed to sh...
